On Wednesday Jan 6, 2010 we held our kick-off scout powwow event that will be held the first wednesday of each quarter. It was a huge success. There was close to 70 boyscouts and 36 leaders from the carmichael stake. There was also a great showing from Troop 355 not only with boyscouts but also Merit badge counselors.
The boys had two hours to work on merit badges and meet with and work with counselors for 24 merit badges. Boys were to sign up in advance to work on one merit badge per hour. They were to come prepared with worksheets and pencils to fill them out. There were 43 boys who pre-registered so there were a great number who decided to come last minute or did not come as prepared to capitalize on this opportunity.
All worked hard however, and enjoyed the environment of counselors and boyscouts working diligently.
We celebrated at the end with Icecream Sandwiches. Yummm!
